4-H Photo Contest

4-H Photo Contest – March

The 4-H Photo Search is an activity designed to give young people an opportunity to learn more about themselves and their surroundings through photography.

Rules

  1. Only one entry per member (no larger than 5 x 7).
  2. The photo should be mounted on an 8×10 piece of construction paper.
  3. On the back of the paper:
    • Name
    • Teacher’s Name
    • Grade
  4. The photo can be in color or black and white. The photo can also be taken with a digital camera.
  5. The photo should be taken by the 4-H member who will be entering the contest.
  6. Use your imagination when taking and selecting photos. People don’t always have to be saying “cheese” and posing for the picture. They can be hugging, making a face, etc. Experiment with different angles. Choose a subject and focus in on it. Make sure you are close enough to make a sharp clear picture. Holding the camera steady is important too. If the camera moves just a little while you are taking the picture it could make it blurry.
