The Master Meat Goat Producer class is a nine session course that is offered by University of Tennessee Extension. The course focuses on meat goat and small ruminant production and issues facing the goat industry. Topics include marketing, nutrition, health, genetics, predators and facilities, and more.
The registration fee for the class will be $50.00 for producers who have a premise I.D. and $150 for producers who do not have a premise I.D. If you do not have a premise I.D., you can get one by stopping by the local UT Extension office or the Farm Service Agency office and requesting one. Producers who complete the Master Meat Goat Producer program will be eligible for the 50% cost share reimbursements through the TDA Tennessee Agriculture Enhancement Program. Items eligible for cost share include equipment and handling facilities, feed storage, and hay storage facilities.
This course will enhance the profitability and competitiveness of any small ruminant operation by providing essential, technical information.
